Here is the info I have on it:

"It's been almost 8 months since the original shutdown due to the Covid-19. We've been doing our best here at Angelo's Monona to adapt to the current situation. Our take-out business has increased, but due to the 25% capacity restriction, we have not had enough dine-in and bar business to make ends meet. My lease is up at the end of the year, and after much consideration I have decided not to renew. As of now, our last night will be Saturday December 19th. Thank you everybody for your years of loyal patronage. Stay safe. Travis"

There is another Angelo's location in McFarland, but I do not know if they have a separate dining room option like the Monona Angelo's.

So I live near Angelo's and I did get take out there once since COVID, but they weren't doing curbside and I had to go inside/wait inside, and this was when bars could be open again, so their bar was full of unmasked people, and the restaurant is small and tight by the cashier counter. So we didn't get takeout there again. But we aren't getting much takeout anyway, because it's not the same as eating in a restaurant and that's the appeal of it for me...getting waited on and hanging out with the ppl I'm eating with (so spending the money on it didn't seem worth it because I'm not getting everything I like for the same price).

We did eat once at the McFarland location, because they have an outdoor dining area. IDK if the same people own both locations. ?? It is the same food.

Anyway, for 2022 Canoecopia we will have to find a new venue.

That's a bummer. Nice, cozy venue with excellent pizza and pasta, and outstanding service. They'll be missed.

Our group is getting a little larger. Maybe we can cumulatively put on our thinking caps and come up with a good Plan B. Would be nice if we could get a banquet room in one of the hotels near the Expo Center.

It was at Angelo"s I first met the BWCA.com crowd. No and jo invited me to their table and I have felt a bond with Angelo's basement and the crowd since. It will be missed, but I agree more space is needed.

So sorry to hear this news. We have fond memories of visits to Angelo's during Canoecopia weekends.
