I'm just curious. Is the person in the middle of White Otter by OnePaddleShort laughing Jan? It kinda sorta looks like him younger. If not, do you think its possible to add a photo of Jan to the rotation?

I don’t think it’s Jan. Yes that would be cool to see him on that page.

New photos on the main page would be nice. But make sure to check out the photo contest entries - many of these photos are spectacular. I enjoy going through these especially at this time of year.

Not Jan. Unfortunately, the only time I spent with him was many late-night hours in chat. That photo is a group of friends who, with one exception, were on their first-ever canoe trip. It was our last campsite and I was setting the camera up on a tripod so I could set the self-timer and get in the photo too. I took a couple test shots to be sure my settings were correct and they had no idea I was taking photos. It turned out the unposed photo captured the spirit of the evening much better than the later “ everybody looking at the camera” photos. It’s been on the front page a long time, new photos are a nice idea.
