Anyone know where to rent a boat for the BWCA? Preferably a 14 ft with 15hp. Looking to launch from Fall Lake up to Pipestone. Would prefer renting instead of buying for the trip. Any info on all that would be appreciated.

Haven't used them but they are a site sponsor, so should be good: Packsack Outfitter

2nd for packsack. There are other options in the area, but Packsack is right there on Fall Lake for ya. They have reasonable rates and can also set you up with portage wheels to get you into Pipestone.

Can I ask why you specifically want a 15hp motor? Packsack's 14ft camp boats are likely rated for up to 25hp. If you have 2 or 3 people and gear in the boat I'd max out the HP if feasible. Solo trip with minimal gear and that 15hp will be plenty.

Have fun!

We have used Packsack for several years, always great to work with and reasonable with price. We always stick with the 15 HP to cut down on weight on the portages. I would HIGHLY recommend getting the flip down portage wheels vs the set under. If you do it right you wont need to repack your boat on the portages. Hopefully we will be using them again the week after fishing opener. Good Luck!
