Gull Lake to Cache Bay Ranger Station usually took me 3 hours solo on a dead calm lake. Swamp would be just a little longer. Tandem with steady effort 3-4 if its calm. Who knows if its windy. You might not get there in a day.
Leave very early, first light and you usually have a calm run. I stress the word usually. Every time I've jump off from Gull Lake into Saganaga I was on the water by 5:00 AM. I stayed at Way of the Wilderness outfitters bunkhouse, had donuts from the famous donut place in Grand Marais for my breakfast. Always saved a few for Janice if I was headed into Quetico.

Thank you for all of the detail, this is what I had in mind and had scheduled for. Hope Sag is smooth that day but with the end of September/early October who knows. Thanks again
