Selling my beloved 2008 Bell Northwind canoe as we're moving to the Seattle area mid-December. I could move it with my solo canoe, but not sure how much paddling I'll see with the Northwind out west. My Northwind is the black gold layup with ash gunwales, walnut thwarts, etc. This "blem"canoe was purchased new in 2008 in Madison. The blem was due to some minor rippling of the fabric on the inside of the canoe near the bow--the dealer had to point it out for me to notice. Since 2008, the canoe has served me and my family well with numerous trips to the BWCA, Quetico, and parts of Ontario. The canoe is 17' 6" in length, weighs about 46 lbs, and always stored indoors.
This canoe has never had any cracks or gouges in the gelcoat or kevlar... I just got tired of seeing the white scratches on the bottom and a few on the sides. To create the new paint scheme, I lightly sanded down the scratches on the gelcoat, then layed down a thin coat of West Systems epoxy. This was followed by automotive primer, premium automotive spray paint and then a 2-part epoxy clear coat. The result is what you see in the pictures. Pretty!! The last 2 pics show the interior of the Northwind and how it looked leaving Baird on my Q solo in 2011.
The canoe is locate in Springboro, Ohio (between Cincinnati and Dayton). Asking $2200. Local pickup or would consider meeting buyer within a hundred miles or so.

Any chance that you will be passing through the Chicago area on your trip to the NW? This is very tempting. PM me if there is any interest in this type of meet up or not. I am also willing to travel a fair distance, so nothing is ruled out right now :)

There's some good paddling around Seattle, so you might want to keep it. Just east of Seattle is Lake Washington (never paddled it, though--never lived in Seattle, but lived in Bellingham), the sloughs near Marysville, Skagit Delta, and then there's Bowron Lake PP in BC, etc. etc.

Holy smoke! That is a beauty. I'm so close and that never happens when someone is looking to sell a vessel like this; they are always up north. If I jumped on this right now I would seriously be sleeping outside. I've purchased so much this past year for my June trip I can guarantee my lovely wife would absolutely come unglued. Best of luck on your move and hope you find her a good home.
Just curious did you ever paddle any creeks or rivers with her over your way?

@ bfurlow - Sent you a gmail.
@ Mike - Thx. Enjoyed chatting with you last month. Hope you're finding time to enjoy the journals.
@MReid - Looking forward to exploring the areas around Seattle and BC, including Bowron. However, the vast majority of my paddling will likely be solo, at least until grandkids are born and grow up a bit. :-)
@ Peacefrog - Thx for the comments. Haven't really paddled much in Ohio the past 17 years. Been on the Little Miami and Caesar Creek Lake a couple times...ev en on Lake Erie once....but really, I'm spoiled by Quetico, BWCA and other parts of Ontario...Ohio is nice, but not the same...

I'd be nervous paddling the creeks and rivers around me. Too shallow with too many rocks to destroy that beautiful finish. The BW and Q does spoil us for sure. Ohio not even close to either. I'll keep paddling my Royalex; takes a beating.

Lake Washington is a huge lake with a lot of large, fast boast traffic. Not a good choice to paddle. I lived next to it for a couple of years. Don't know about the rest but that one would be like paddling on Minnetonka on a Sunday afternoon..
