Just starting the rough planning for next August. We're headed out for 14 days and I'm looking at the East side. We want some nights in a PMA. I would prefer to have a thru route instead of an In and out. Has anyone been through the Weasel Lake PMA from Clearwater lake to Pagami Lake on Pagami Creek? From what I can read, it gets a little tight near Clearwater.
I'm also looking at Pitfall.
I would like someplace with no too much bushwhacking and good fishing. More travel on the water is better.
Like I said, we got 14 days so plenty of time to wander. Thought now is to put in at Moose Lake and circle around to Farm lake exit. Looks like around 100 miles to do that and that may be a lot. I want some stay over days if we at an awesome camp.
What kind of ideas does anybody have for this.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

PS this will be a moot point if the RABC permits are available. Then it's up through Carp to the Man lakes to the Fall Chain and Kawnipi. but that looks like we have to wait to '23 for that.

We went through Pitfall this year. The plan was to camp one night and go looking for pike. Some folks say the pike fishing in Pitfall can be really good. It might be, but we never got to find out. Getting into Pitfall was relatively easy but we just couldn’t find anywhere to safely pitch a tent without clearing more ground than we felt comfortable doing in a PMA and being mindful of LNT. We spent probably an hour and a half searching the lakes and climbing up points to scout and just kept coming up empty. A lot of Pitfall is seriously burned out so it was full of dense new growth. We thought about pitching on rock and guying out to stones, but just decided to turn back and continued back on our route. It was disappointing but it netted us an extra day on SAK. Good luck with the planning, your trip sounds great. You might also try asking the folks in the PMA forum. They know their stuff.

A couple years ago we entered at Missing Link, dropped through the Hairy Lake PMA. We had planned to then do the Frost River, but due to some slight injury for one of our group, we went thru Long Island Lake and back out Missing Link. There was definitely bushwhacking, but it was manageable with planning and we found places to camp. Can't speak to the fishing since we were too tired to do much :) I wrote a detailed trip report you can easily find if you click on my trip report icon.
