I'm thinking of replacing the Taj 3 I have that leaks like a sieve. I'm done with it. My first tent was a Eureka and I loved it. Looking at the Eureka Summer Pass 3 and an outfit called OutlandUSA has one for a really attractive price. Anybody care to share some thoughts on this tent model and the seller, I'd appreciate it. I'm thinking of going for it.

Thanks a million, scat

Seems like 3-man tents are tight for 2 guys. But these dimensions look pretty good!

Sweet looking tent with nice features. While I haven't owned the Summer Pass, I've owned and been pleased with several Eureka tents. Go for it!

Thanks guys, much appreciated. At $188 and free shipping I don’t think I can pass this up. Besides being leaky, like real bad, the Taj 3 is like putting together Rubik’s cube to set up. This looks like a snap. I’ll wait and see if anyone has anything negative to say for a day or so, (maybe another hour) but I’m pretty stubborn once I fix on a thing so this is prob a go for me. With the economy looking like it’s going in the dumper again all I’ll need is internet access to make this my new home and office haha.

Looks like a lighter version of the Mountain Pass 3. I've had and sold 2 Eureka tents and still own 1. Good quality materials and build. If it seem a bit heavy compared to other similar 3P tents Eureka tents have a quality heft to them.

I have this exact tent. Bought it last summer and really like it. very roomy for 2 people, good airflow and easy setup.

Sweet. I'm gonna pull the trigger. Can't beat the price either. I was worried it might be a scam outfit, lotta that goin around lately, but it seems legit. Thanks again guys.
Done deal - It's already shipped with a tracking number. Wow, that was super quick.

Just thought I'd check in and say I got my tent delivered in 2 days from OutlandUSA, so kudos to them. Ordered at 2 Pm Weds and was delivered to the post office by 9 am Friday/today. Looks like a winner. About a pound lighter than the piece of crap Taj3 and looks much easier to set up. Always fun getting something new so I'm a happy camper! Thanks guys for the feedback.

Cheers, scat

The site below has them for $188 but has a coupon for 15% off making them $160 plus free shipping. Eureka Summer Pass 3

That’s cool ocky, but I got mine from that outfit and since it was on sale at $188 it wouldn’t allow me any more discounts. Will say I got mine in 2 days after ordering it, free shipping, so my one concern it could be a scam was unfounded. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy any gear from OutlandUSA again. Not into haggling, I’d rather give you ten bucks than argue about it.

I wanted to like my Taj 3 due to the height, but like you, I found it difficult to set up just right, the hexagonal design really wastes space, and the sharp angle of the sides toward the center let rain in when I opened the door. Today's designs are much better. I've ordered from Outland USA before and found them honest and helpful with good prices.

The Summer Pass will be fine. I prefer slightly heavier waterproofing, though 1500 mm is considered adequate. This tent is cheaper and has a 3000 mm coating on the fly and floor: https://www.amazon.com/Freestanding-Backpacking-Waterproof-Vestibule-Backping/dp/B078Y9SCDJ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1E35SQ8Z7QY2J&keywords=camppal+3+person+tent&qid=1646844410&sprefix=camppal%2Caps%2C129&sr=8-3
