just wondering about water levels on the river heading up to jack lake during that time of year? any one have any experience in that area during October?

I love that area. I’ve been there with each of my daughters and it will be 1 of the first places I take little Bruin. Good area to see moose and for catching walleye.

I was there in May and June for my two trips so low water wasn’t a problem.

But I have heard plenty of stories where people have had to walk their canoe quite a ways through the boulder field in the river area right after the first portage leaving Baker in order to get to Peterson in the fall when water levels drop.
