The last day of a BWCA trip is always bittersweet. It's hard not to think negatively of that last day's approach...the end to your epic adventure in the wilderness....

How many of you take advantage of that last day, fishing and paddling until the bitter end? On this trip, we decided to fish for a few hours in the morning before breaking camp and starting our 15 mile paddle back to the car. Our efforts paid off big time as we ran into two more lake trout over 32" and the largest walleye of the trip at 26". Never give up...always one last cast...

Alas...If any of my days on a trip were that productive it would be bittersweet to leave!
