Pinetree: "I see today Kawishiwi river water is just a tad below normal for this time of year. The BWCA with all its rock water runs off extremely fast and levels go up fast. They also go down rather quickly."
Yep, hardly any real soil to absorb the rain/runoff. Plus when the ground was still frozen early on it didn't matter anyway.

Crazy with the amount of rain we’ve had. Most places here a few miles west are still very high. Now more rain today and night. So far nothing significant.

Same with us at Brainerd were getting soaked often and raining hard right now, but you go east of Mille lacs and the snake river for canoeing is about 60% of normal.
