Brings back memories of visiting my buddies that went to UMD in the mid 90's. Late nights over the sink cleaning== priceless.

I had some good smelt tacos in saint paul recently, but those look like the way to go. Of course I'd substitute hot sauce for the tartar and guzzle a few beers between bites :)

Back in the late 70’s when I was at Purdue I would head over to Reihle’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill in Lafayette, IN on Friday nights to have FRIED SMELT and wash it down with a bunch of Strohs beer.

I couldn’t wait for Friday nights.
