A while ago I posted looking for monocular suggestions. I was asked to post my impressions if I purchased one. I did.

I purchased a Vortex Solo Tactical Monocular. I used on my trip last week to the Vista/Horseshoe Lake area. Best purchase ever. Beat my wife's binoculars for clarity. Granted, it's one eye versus two (I recently had eye surgery so it actually worked out better for me.) It's small and lightweight, built very sturdy, and did exactly what I wanted it to do. Probably one-third the weight on her binos (which are Eagle Optics, good ones).
