I will be going August 13-22 and going in the Snowbank, Knife, Thomas area. Is there any point to bringing #5 and #6 shad raps? I know walleye are a bit deeper at that time of the year but I also know we've been having a hotter summer. I'm planning on mostly trolling may some casting off shore. I am also planning on bringing ripping raps in 5-7. Will also have a TDD 11.
To add, I will have a dedicated slip bobbing rod as well.

naturboy12: "We still use crankbaits in August, but generally stick with SR9's or other deeper divers and focus on drops/points/mid-lake reefs with good underwater structure until we find active fish. "
I’m wondering if I should ditch most of the ripping raps and just bring a 6? I’ll bring two tdd 11’s instead.

if lakers are your quest , many on here like the TDD11 i've never used them , but differently want a big bill to get down 20'+.i'm a big fan of bomber crankbaits 8a get down about 18' the 9a have a very large bill will get down mid20's+.. other talk about snap weights with more of a stickbait type profile...big spoons troll right down the middle of knife. drifting and vertical jigging with large bucktail jigs(1-2oz)(braid) tip with a 5"plastic grub/twistertail.
keep your line wet, good things will happen
