Anyone know how the bugs in Wabakimi are?

I've heard this year was among the most epic biting bug years in decades. A recent (and really great) YouTube video on the Lost Lakes channel from late June seems to corroborate the reports.

My friend and I are heading out to the heart of the park late next week and wondering if anyone can report on the more current status.

I see nighttime temps in the 40's, so I'm optimistic!

I came out of wabakimi late last week and the peak bug season seemed to have passed. Wasn’t bad at all.

Yes, the bug season is mostly over. We were in Wab 8/5-13 and bugs were not overly abundant. Even the night we spent in a make shift camp in a bushy area wasn't too bad. (Make shift campsite: 50.384728, -90.273521)
