Lindylair's pic from the knife poll thread inspired this.

I am not a collector. However, I seem to have accumulated several over time.
A few are of good quality, but most have just been picked up as they caught my eye at garage sales or antique stores. I have also lost a couple to the TSA.

A few notes of significance to me:
1) Recent Mora acquisition...my current deer hunting knife.

2) Japanese knock-off K-Bar. I believe Dad brought this home from the Pacific.

5) Home made in the 70's from hacksaw blades. Now a bag opener on the water softener.

11) Constant companion in my teen years.

12) Field dressed my deer until I bought the Mora.

22) Dad's every day carry. He used it for everything from removing splinters from us kids to performing an episiotomy on a sow in difficult labor.

Not shown is Dad's USMC K-Bar. I recently passed that on to my former Marine son.

Anyone else have an accumulation?

Unas, glad to see I am not the only one with this "affliction" :) I suspect there are many more.

Here's the photo from the other knife thread that Unas referred to - missing a Schrade folder and a Gerber Multi Tool that I couldn't locate. The Schrade I can't find is exactly like the one you have in your photo, 2nd row right end. The Sharp folder in my photo is very similar and is the knife I carried around with me for many years until I got the Kershaw.

Never can have too many knives and axes. I HAVE A BAD CASE OF THE INFECTION. My Dad got me started in first grade. Passed it along to my Daughter. She can split wood with the best of them.

Not the TSA, but a few years ago we drove our daughter to DC for an internship. While there we visited the Smithsonian. Went through the security scanner, and you guessed it, my daughter (not husband) had a Swiss Army knife in her purse. The guard just said “you know you can’t bring that in here. I don’t care what you do with it, but it can’t come in.” So we walked out, found a raised planter, and hid it there. We also found about a dozen other knives in the area.

I don't collect in quantities. LOL

These are my twins. AA Forge Mutts.

1) 01 tool steel + blue birdseye maple scales with aluminum pins and spacer, and natural micarta liners

2) Magnacut steel + spalted maple with black micarta liners and aluminum pins

These will be passed down to my kids, all ready for their adventures when they get older.
