Anyone have info on campsites on the Canadian side of Saganaga? Looking at areas like the Northeast Arm, so well east of Quetico. I have heard about campsites on Northern Lights, but looking to stay on Sag. Thanks!

Years ago my 10 year old son and I paddled to Northern Light Lake. We stopped at a Canadian cabin/office on an island to pay our fees for camping on Crown land and were on our way in a few minutes. We found that our campsites were somewhat built up in the way of log tables, nails in trees and such. Didn't bother us, I kind of liked it. We didn't see anyone else the 4 days we were on Moose Bay and the fishing was great. We didn't spend any nights on Sag so I can't really address your question.

That jibes with what I have read about northern lights campsites, and doesn’t really bother me. I just want to spend some more time fishing the Canadian side of big Sag, specifically in dark conditions, without having to navigate back to a Bwca site late at night. I know there are some Bwca sites very near the border around red sucker bay, but I’m looking further north and east for this trip.

Anyone?

Hmm, well maybe I'm at a dead-end here, as the crown land use policy atlas seems to suggest that pretty much all the islands and several shoreline tracts are privately owned. Zooming way in on Satellite maps does indeed show a LOT of cabins.
