My Nat Geo shows a 47 rod portage from Pan to Kivandeba. Has anyone been in there? Any intel on fishing?

My son and I tried to find that portage this past August. We could not do so. Others have reported being able to find it in early season, before the growth gets too thick. I don't doubt its existence, but it is clearly not a maintained portage. I bushwacked to Kivandeba anyway just to see the lake, but did not fish.
