Have any of you used something like this? A folding table. I'm thinking it would sure be nice to set up at camp and either cook food on it or use it to keep food out of the dirt.
Sometimes my chair gets used for holding things. I also get tired of sitting there all scrunched over cooking on the fire grate but in Quetico, it is even harder because there is no fire grate...just a rock fire pit/alter of sorts. This year we will be in the Q.
Thoughts? $45 divided by 8 on our trip in doesn't add much to the trip and could be real handy. It is one more thing to set up and tear down but... it won't add a TON of weight and it always comes down to weight/work vs benefit.

I've never used them canoe camping but they are a lifesaver whenever I've gone car camping on a site that doesn't have a usable picnic table. Other people bring heavier "comfort" items ... as long as you have a plan for portaging it, go for it!

Pay attention to the length of the legs. That just wouldn't fit into our packs and would stick up above quite a bit. We went with a smaller table with a roll up fabric top. It works for holding food when it is ready to serve but it is much shorter.

I got this Cube Carbon Fiber backpacking table several years ago. It is the ideal height for use with my Helinox camp chair and fits perfectly in my portage pack. I am very happy with mine but, its size limits its use to solo or couples tripping.
I think the Cube backpacking tables are difficult to find but if you can find one at a reasonable price, grab it.
Good Luck

We bring one of those only has a wooden slats instead of aluminum. Works great as a food prep table and a stove table. Until a few guys set their booze bottles and coffee cups on it. Then it get crowded on it.

With a group that big a table (or 2) is a must for me. I have one from REI that is similar to the one you have and really like it. We use it for the fish fry station if we don’t feel like doing it over the fire. If you plan on doing anything messy on it I highly recommend a tablecloth (we use piece of contractor bag cut to size) as cleaning it can be a real pain with all of the gaps between the pieces.
I also have a big Agnes one that weighs half as much that is really nice for lighter duty (cards, cocktails, eating, gear storage, etc.).

I got this idea off of someone on here for a hanging table, made one a couple years back, fits into the back of our CCS Guide pack nicely and doesn't weight much. Great for organizing, food prep, making coffee, etc. I've been thinking about how old political yard signs could be DIY'd as a tabletop, weigh next to nothing...

Yes. I took one on my trip last September and it was well worth it's weight to have. Perfect for two people to have as a workspace while you hang out under the tarp by the fire.

Couple other options. I have the one with the cloth table top, which obviously you can't cook on but works great otherwise. The other link has a aluminum top which might be better for what you want, though I can't offer an opinion on it personally.
I have been very happy with everything I've purchased from this company though, my first camping chair is 10+ years old and still going strong.

That's the table I have, seen a few posts up w/the maps on it. I think I have the large... It was perfect for the stove, coffee, eating, keeping stuff on.
I also like the look and concept of the tree tables. Especially the rings around the edge for hanging stuff.
