I'm aware of the tamaracks Boonie mentioned on Horseshoe Lake. Golden tamaracks of Horsehoe Lake

Thought it would be interesting to hear of other canoe country locations where folks have run across the glowing autumn colors of the deciduous tamarack tree.

Egknuti,

The photos you share are always stunning. These are certainly no exception. Thank you.

Great trip looking back, not so much those days! Stuart River Oct 2018 on the West side, I think this was near the big beaver dam. Learned a lot about myself, and survived!

There were also a nice bunch of them paddling in NW arm of Horseshoe from Allen as well as some down in the SE arm.

The reason we go late September. There is nothing like the fall colors in the BWCA! You can keep June-August, the bugs and the people, and give us solitude and fall colors

a few more pics from the Range River. Paddling this area mid October with temps around 50 degrees is spectacular.

....awesome!

I know the creek between Meeds & Caribou had a good population of tamarack but, alas, it was May when we paddled through last year.
