Ha, I remember that lovely greeting from your dog! And, yes, I think that's right. I was originally planning more ambitious travel around the triangle, but given the conditions I ended up just hanging out at that site and ultimately left a day early to avoid a snowstorm (that ended up causing at least a couple emergency rescues if I recall correctly).
