If I want to start at PP and paddle the man chain-falls chain and up to Kawanipi looping thru to Agnes and back to PP then I would need a man lake chain permit and I would get that at PP.

But if I wanted to start at the falls chain and do the same loop then I would have to get a falls chain permit and start at Cache Bay correct?

Or did I miss something.

Thx

See the below image for the Ranger Stations and associated EPs. Looks like Carp Lake permit for PP Ranger Station. Man Chain and Falls Chain are both out of Cache Bay.

I think your Prairie Portage permit would be Carp Lake.

You very well could be right about getting a Carp Lake permit through PP and a Man Chain permit through Cache Bay. Even though one would need to go through Carp Lake to get to the first "Man" lake, I'd call the park office to verify. Starting at PP to go up the Man Chain, then Falls Chain, etc. is a good way to do that route.

+2 if you're coming from the South.

We just reserved our permit for August. Check in at PP and go via Carp Lake entry #62 to the Man Lakes. We’re either going to do an out’n’back or clockwise loop through the border lakes. Really want to see stuff, but also ready for a leisurely fishing trip.
