Has anybody been on the moose river recently? We’re heading south this week and wondering how much of a slog it is going to be.

Thanks in advance!

Our Group paddled from Nina Moose to Entry Point 16 Saturday Morning 7/15/23. I can't speak to the southern part of the river, but to the north, the water levels were lower than I had personally seen in past trips. That being said, we had no trouble paddling the route. There were 4 beaver dams along the way, two of them we had to get out and pull over, the other two we were able to paddle over. Of course there are several locations where the grass/wild rice/lily pads has the waterway pretty choked down, but we were able to get through without any issues. I'm not sure if that is helpful, but it's the best info I have to share. Hope you have a great trip!!!

We came out yesterday, Sunday 7-16. We went from ep 16 thru Nina Moose to Lake Agnes, then to Boulder Bay. It was our first time to that area, so I don’t know what normal levels are. But it did seem low based on how many scraped rocks were above the water. The rivers Both above and below Nina Moose Lake had a lot of grass/rice but we could still paddle. And between the ep and Agnes we counted 9 beaver dams. A couple had nice openings big enough to paddle through, a couple had minor drag, a few where 1 person had to step out, 1 when we both had to get out and drag, and 1 where we had to unload - but that was right in front of a portage so we still would’ve unloaded.
Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the info!

This is great news, figured things would be low but the fact that tot was doable bodes well
