Hello,
Planning a 10-day trip into Quetico from PP on September 1st and looking for some ideas. We want solitude, sightseeing and fishing and are thinking of around 100 miles.

Some options are Carp, Man Chain, Saganagons, Falls Chain, Kawnipi
Murdoch, Agnes, Sunday and back to PP. Another one is the Hunter's island Loop, although that one is pretty long.

Thank in advance.

I have a trip planned for early September as well, and will be on kawnipi, not expecting much traffic, nothing like to the south of the border. We are either going up the falls chain via cache bay, or up through Agnes via PP, I'm undecided right now and not expecting much traffic on either once we get north a little bit. Went up through yum yum area late last September and we just seen a few people,

You haven't told us what your entry lake is. Basswood River, Sarah, Kahshahpiwi, Agnes, and Carp are each options when arriving through Prairie Portage. If Carp is your entry lake, the route you've suggested is great, and with a 10-day trip you could add Blackstone and Trant if you're not spending a lot of time fishing.

Carp is our entry point. But we could still change it.
Fishing is secondary so i will look at those lakes u mentioned.
Thank you

If entering Carp, Man Chain, Falls Chain to Wet, McEwen Chain to Agnes (spend some time on Louisa), then up to Silence, through Trant to Kahshahpiwi, and out through Side, Isabella, North Bay, Burke, etc. I've done it in two trips each 5 days so pretty sure 10 days is good.

So we are finally going in on Friday and this is the Rte. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
PP to Carp, Man Chain, Bell/Fran/Slate to Blackstone, out of Blackstone to the NE to Saganagons to Fall chain, Wet to McEwen, McEwen chain to Louisa, Agnes/Silence to Trant then Kahshapiwi south to Isabella then North Bay to Burke and back to PP.

Thanks.

If you've done Side and Isabella, consider leaving Kashapiwi via Yum Yum or McNiece. I've done all three and hard to choose. For me it would depend on the meadows north of Side - wether portage or paddle. You might check with ranger on way in. That said Isabella and especially the stream from it to North is my favorite place. My son is instructed to take at least some of my ashes there.

Every route listed is quite common, and yet you will still have solitude, because that's how Quetico is.
