Nice trip report with lots of information on portages and campsites that will be helpful for others planning on taking this route or parts of it. Sounds like you and your son had a great time. Was hoping the fishing would be better though.

Great report with lots of fine photos. Sorry that the trip ended 'wet', but looks like you have a great setup for drying gear.

Great report. It felt like I was there. Overall I'm a fan of Pak-It gourmet products. Was that a Sea to Summit shower? I have on and love how small it packs. I usually heat some water on the stove and mix it with lake water before I add it, I don't have the patience to leave it in the sun all day (well, actually I always forget).

Enjoyed that report! I've been on most of those lakes on various different trips and it brought back a lot of memories. :) Hope to see you next month.

Enjoyed the report. It's nice to have time to explore off the beaten path at times. The fake portage trail felt familiar. It's comforting to know it happens to more experienced people too. Spending 2 weeks as a team with your son is pretty great too. It's so difficult to have real connections with our kids after they've left the nest. I can't think of a better way to reconnect.

It's the best! But this is the kid that wanted a backpacking trip with me when he turned 18.....my camping buddy.

Enjoyed your trip report as that is an area I will hopefully be visiting this fall. I'm curious though, was that a campfire scar from somebody in your day 11 pics? Was that in the PMA or elsewhere?

Looking at the photo, I think you're right, campfire scar. That was in the PMA, on Cookoosh Lake.

I enjoyed your trip report. I’ve been taking my kids to the BWCA since they were in the womb. I hope my sons will be like yours and want to keep coming with me when they’re on their own. Thank you for the pictures in detail made me feel like I was there.
