Anybody have a rain/paddling jacket with wrist gaskets? It sounds delightful. I hate it when rain runs down (up) my fishing arms. Any recommendations?

I have one that I bought from LLBean many years ago. The rubber cuffs at the end of the sleeve seal tight with Velcro. I don't know if that model is still made.

I have some in my kayaking gear and can’t remember the models but almost certainly were purchased from NRS. They have a wide selection of paddling gear.

I always keep a pair of wristbands in my raincoat pocket. Helps keep the water from seeping up my arms!

You mean like the latex wrist gaskets on a dry suit? I didn't realize they used those in regular waterproof jackets?

There are a variety of wrist gaskets on what NRS calls splash west jackets up to the dry suit type. I think my jackets just have the neoprene gaskets that slow the water down a lot.

I think the one time I wished I had those in the BW was when I forgot to dump out the canoe at the start of a portage on a cold stormy day. A lot of water went down my sleeve. Soon afterwards we stopped so I could change and for hot drinks. I will never make that mistake again.

PacLite Stowaway Wading jacket

Waterproof gusseted, rubberized cuffs adjust to your wrist and keeps water out

If I know heavy rain is in the forecast and I will be paddling or fishing for hours, I bring a Level Six kayak dry top and it has gaskets wrists. Kokatat and NRS make great stuff too. Also take a Patagonia TorrentShell rain jacket for normal rain and mist.

There are saltwater surf fishing tops that are made of fabric or neoprene where the neck, waist and wrists are all gasketed. StormR is one company that makes several different products.

The last Guide wear top I purchased had some pretty tight wrist openings with rubber and Velcro. Don't think you could submerge your arm without getting wet but it kept me dry all last week in the BW.
