Looking to do my first BWCA trip in the winter. Would like to ice fish and hunt for small game. I’d really like to go in near Grand Maria’s. Open to any kind of fishing, pike are a favorite but I’ll take anything I can get. I plan to snowshoe in and will have a hot tent. Looking for lake suggestions and am open do any and all ideas people have. Any help is very much appreciated

Thanks!

I'd go in March and fish walleyes on North Fowl. Not sure about hunting stuff.

There isn’t anything to hunt once grouse season closes. Snowshoe hare is open but probably isn’t worth the effort.

Grouse season closes January 1. Also, once the snow starts accumulating, they’re very tough to find, as they hunker down under cover for long periods of time.
