Going out of Clearwater Lake for 6 days the last week in August. Looking for any recommendations on lakes to hit for fishing in that area.

Current plan is to go up through Mountain/Moose and come back through East/West Pike

I did this same loop 2 years ago. You can catch fish on every lake. We've caught trout on West Pike and Clearwater. Mountain was too rough to fish on when we went through, but I hear you can catch trout there. Moose has smallmouth. We traveled straight through Fowl to West Pike, but John and East Pike looked like trout lakes. A group fishing from a campsite on East Pike said they caught some smallmouth. We did catch several trout on West Pike as well, where we stayed a couple days.

We aren't big fishers, we mostly just fish for dinner. If we had fished more, we could have caught more fish and figured out where they were at better. If you are going in August, you are going to have to get the line down about 40 feet or more. A fish finder is recommended because that depth can vary significantly depending on water temps.
