Next week trip. 8 days and 7 nights.
Going in PP, trying to decide to go either
1. Burke, Basswood, yumyum, Kahshahpiwi, sark, kawnipi, agnes, sunday.
2. Sunday, Agnes, Louisa, Mcewen, Kawnipi, Agnes, sunday.
Priorities.. fishing (trout, walleye), solitude.
Thanks

Just curious, what's your entry lake? Doesn't that have some influence on your route?

There are open permits for both, Agnes and Kahshahpiwi. I am trying to decide before i pick one or the other.

Solitude on both routes.
Yum Yum, and Sark for great trout fishing.
Walleye, throughout both.

Both routes are great. If it were me, I'd go Kahshahpiwi because I like those lakes.

But for you, flip a coin. Either route will be great.

We've done routes that included each of your options; I'd go with Option 1. A disclaimer: we don't fish, so I can't compare the fishing potential of the options. And if the wind picks up as you're traveling south on Agnes, consider the lake chains west of Agnes (Reid, then the S chain to North Bay). Lotsa portages, but little wind.

Well, I like the route through Louisa and the McEwen Chain. Though I'd turn south and head back through Man Chain.

Thank you for the recommendations. Sounds like Kahshahpiwi it's going to be.
We did the Man and Fall chain last year and loved it.
S chain from Agnes is great advise, did that in May this year and really enjoyed it, wouldn't mind at all doing it again.
Appreciate you gents.

Last question, sorry. Lol
Kahshahpiwi, keefer, sark, cairn, kawnipi and agnes or cut across towards Trant, unnamed lakes to silence, S chain back to basswood?
Thanks again

The portage from Kahshahpiwi to Trant is tough (see Day Four ) but the pictographs and a wonderful campsite on Trant are well worth the effort.
