I used to watch the MNDNR Eagle Cam which followed a pair of nesting eagles here in Minnesota. Spring of 2023 a nasty ice storm caused the branch the nest was on to fall. The chicks that had just hatched were lost.
Times have changed, once like Brainerd area eagles went south for the winter, now they stay all winter. Even seen them by a nest yesterday. This time of year, they feed on road kills-mainly deer quite often. Last year seen one on a nest after a snowstorm, amazing the eggs survive?
