Are there any outfitters that will tow customers up to the head of Jackfish Bay to the no motor zone? Drop off and pickup. I know Packsack Canoe used to. We used it several times. Great service. Don’t know if they still do.

Thank you.

Yes. Text messaged them a couple days ago. They said as of now, no. I've used them before and it was great. I'm 68 now and with the tow can cover a lot of water and get up to Upper Basswood Falls in a hurry. My canoe partner is in his early 70s. Hope we can find someone.

Thanks.

If you can go through Moose Lake, Williams & Hall Moose Lake Outfitters will take you to the portage out of Back Bay, which is relatively the same area as the motor limit on Jackfish Bay. It's about the same paddle distance to UBF.

Thanks PD for the heads up. I will give them a holler.

That or looking at a tow from moose lake operators to Washington Island as well. Will be a little bit farther canoe, but cheaper and no initial portage to go over. The back bay portage is very flat and wide. I have done both, and prefer the wash island way.
