Anyone try using one of those adhesive stick-on tape measures in their (kevlar) boat to measure fish? If so - did it stick to the kevlar well?

The ideal spot might be the gunwale, but I suspect it would take too much abuse there.

Any other ideas along similar lines are welcome!

I put mine on the thwart. Only goes to 30 inches, but good for quick releases with the current length limits in Quetico and BWCA, especially fishing walleye.

Looks good! Unfortunately, my solo's thwart only has about 25", so I need to be on the hull...

Can ya mount it on the gunwales?

It should stick to the Kevlar.

If ya wanted it permanent. Maybe run a light coat of Resin over it once you put it down?

We have used a black marker to label inch marks on a paddle . Not our nice expensive paddles, but the older emergency paddle we take.

I had a 36" measure. Turned out to be shorter than I needed for the one fish, so I have updated it to a 60" measure. Should stick fine. If it starts to wear out, replace it with a new one.

Nice. That looks like the ticket.

My only hesitation is...in my solo I have never brought any pike over 36" into the boat for fear of my life. Always kept them on the outside. Regardless, I'll be trying adhesive on the floor.

Thanks all for the ideas.

The tape measurer is nice, but that map holder? Exquisite. Any chance you have a picture of that setup without the map? I'm always setting mine on the floor of the canoe or squeezing it between my canoe pack and the thwart. Works ok, but your setup looks awesome.

I do. Made the map holder out of a baby pants hanger thingy. Light weight and clips the map in place, easy in, easy out. Zip tied it around the Ram mount for my depth finder. Second pic is the board I added to the bow for a rod holder too.

Thanks! Great solution, one of my favorites I've seen.
