Well, I don't have many pictures of the intended lake, so I'll change it up just a little. The first several pictures are of the route to the destination lake. We did an 'out and back' type trip. The object is to name the destination lake.

Generally heading north ish. These pictures are not necessarily in order. The beach one, is on the destination lake.









I think these next few photos are actually facing south. While we were headed north, after one portage, we had backtracked up a creek that we had portaged around, just to look at the scenery.

There are two campsites on the lake, maybe 3 stars each. This is the one we stayed at, facing roughly north.

It takes about 12 portages from our entry point to get to this lake (not counting a couple beaver dams pull overs), and we paddled around one of the portages.

This lake has bass walleye and pike, if you go about 3 more portages, you'll be in a beautiful lake trout lake.

It's been an adventure trying to load these. My wife usually takes pics on her phone when we go to the BWCA. So they're not professional photo's by any means. Regardless, I couldn't get the photos to load from her phone to our PC. I think there might be something wrong with the port maybe???

So I texted the photos to my phone, loaded them up to the PC, and they wouldn't open.

So then I emailed them to my email address on the PC, and they still wouldn't open.

So then I sent them via facebook messenger to my messenger account, then saved them to the computer, but they seem a little blurry compared to what's on her phone, and the formatting seems a little off. They're narrow and more vertical, compared to what I see on her phone.

It's been a struggle.

When I look at it closer, this picture was after a portage, on our way to NTL 87, and we were looking back west up one of the creeks that we had portaged around.

We went back there because we had heard they had big walleyes. The first fish my wife caught was about a 5 inch bluegill.

She gave me a look like "...and we came all the way back here for THIS!!!" She just shook her head. It was funny. We caught two smallies, just enough for dinner. I kinda wished we had pushed on to Makwa, that was the lake trout lake I mentioned. I heard it's very pretty.

I can confirm that Pan does have big walleye's. Or at least it did 20+ years ago. Caught a 26" beauty on a rattlin rouge trolling by the SW island. Biggest walleye I'd ever caught to that point.

Then broke my rod tip when I left it sitting on the ground just after. Amazing the things that stick in your mind.

The first two times that we went to Pan in the late '90's we caught 25-28" walleye consistently. We took pics and released them. The last two trips to Pan in the early 2000's we caught one or two walleye and they were small. We haven't been back since but everyone we've talked to has shared the same story about Pan.
Makwa saved the last two trips with it's beauty and some fantastic lake trout fishing.
