I'm gonna do something a bit different. Instead of using photos, I will describe the lake. This is an experiment...we'll see how it goes.

Clue #1: a short portage connects this BWCA lake to a lake that used to be named after a (clean and appropriate) slang term for a body part. You can explore for artifacts around this lake.

Clue #2: This lake formerly was known by a woman's name.

I'll try to contribute better clues.

Clue #3: There was a spur road off of a main road that led to this lake. This lake also shares a name with a character in a 1980s movie that featured a Kenny Loggins song and a rodent.

I thought the Caddyshack reference would do it!

I think TB has it.

Carl Lake fits the third clue (Carl Spackler) but I don't think that's the correct lake.

Crystal Lake used to be called Fanny Lake. Spaulding Lake used to be called Miranda Lake.

It's pretty cool. I found the mining artifacts, but I could not find the cabin remnants which were supposed to be there.

Yep, it rhymes with a female body part.

Interestingly, when I explored around the lake, I found the mine gear and the mine shaft, but I could not find the cabin. I'll be in the vicinity in a couple weeks, and I may explore the area again.
