This was the route of my very first trip back in 1983. We camped on Juno where our trip was curt short by a hungry bear. Lately I've been thinking of doing a solo out of Homer just to see if I can remember my first trip a little better.

Sounds like it was the perfect small route for the time that you had available. Any more pics of campsites?

Tom- as I was paddling this route I kept thinking, "This would be a great solo route". Small water, reduced wind, smaller campsites that would work for one paddler, etc. I think you would enjoy seeing this area after the wind storm and fire damage that it has sustained since your maiden voyage. Here is a photo of our site on Vern Lake, the nicest we stayed at and/or saw during our trip.

Thanks for the great report. I didn't know bears were so vain as to want to look at themselves in your mirror.
