So I've never paddled without a rudder in my kayaking career, and this off season I went and bought a Wilderness Systems Freedom 15 SOT kayak. It is set up to take a rudder, but according to WS, they no longer make them and do not know of any suppliers.
I don't think I would have any problem paddling without a rudder, except on big water with big weather, which coincidentally is where I like to paddle. Anyone think I should just forego a rudder, or attempt to modify one to fit? Or a skeg? Opinions please.
I cannot make my days longer, so I strive to make them better.
