Booked a true solo trip for Sept 20; Cross Bay Lake. Traveling around the perimeter of Hairy Lake PMA with some possible 'poking in'. About 7 days. Last solo trip was Stuart River in 2003. Route is all planned and researched (thanks to the hot weather).
Going to try driving up (8 hours) and entering on the same day. I have never done that.

Sounds neat PJ. The "Sept drive up and put in" is tricky. Daylight fades fast. You don't get in very far before you have to start campsite hunting. Be sure to include Snipe on the route. Some really neat rock shorelines in there.
"What could happen?"

I am usually an early riser so being on the road by 5 am is not going to be a problem. I should be able to be on the water by 2 pm.
Snipe is definitely on the list. Haven't decided which way to take the loop yet. Leaning toward clockwise.
Extra-extra batteries is a very good idea.

Thanks Ken...I will do the same! It won't be the same not having you there singing Frank Zappa. Oh wait...I vowed to kill you in your sleep if you sang Frank Zappa again. :)
