Does anybody use a hammock sock for cold weather hanging? If so, what fabric do you use?

I don't have one myself but cotton/canvas seems to come up when I seen them discussed. I suspect Breath-ability is the main reason but it would not surprise me if some moisture absorbancy was as well.

I had one made out of sail cover material and have used it in -10 with a pad and sleeping bag.

I have the factory under-quilt for my ENO and the factory insulation package for my Clark. I've used both for cold weather camping and I'm. Sure they help - some.

I am convinced though that NOTHING can take the place of a good quality sleeping bag designed specifically for the temperature range you are in.
