Well, I'm slowly posting my Pictorial Trip Report from my July trip in Quetico on (gasp!) another board. (Actually, (gasp!), two other boards.) My report format doesn't work right on bwca.com, and I didn't know if it was kosher to link to another board on the public forum, but I figured I could post the links in the Afficionados private group. So if you're interested and haven't seen it, here's links to the first two episodes (I'll add new links as additional episodes trickle out).

Wow, reads like a book. With the great pictures and fine narrative I anxiously await " the rest of the story ". Most enjoyable - Thanks for sharing.

As usual, a great story. You're entered into the BWCA.com trip report contest!
I was up there at about the same time going the opposite direction.
My Trip report however is still in draft mode.

We were there a few days after you - though my trip report.... still in draft mode will pale next to yours.
I think that island campsite on Bird Lake is really pretty - I also remember that there were - appropriately - dozens of birds, finches and chickadees - flying about on that island where we also broke for lunch (We were heading South BTW).

Do all of us a favor - after you've posted the last segment of this wonderful tale here, would you repost on on the Trip report section?
This is really good, and you look like you need a new BWCA.com hat.

Thanks Cedarboy and Beemer. Beemer, I'd be happy to post a link to the report in the Trip Reports forum when it's finally done, or even in a single thread as the episodes come out like I'm doing here, if it's okay. I'm just not sure whether linking to other sites like that is in Adam's business plan. Let me know if it's permissible. Bill

Fishguts, I'll defer to Adam on that. Linking over to CCBB for a story posting strikes me as fundamentally different than promoting a new site.
Adam has developed and applied a level of technology here that is vastly superior to any other Internet Board or list across any topic I've seen.
He spends money out of pocket to keep it running, never mind his donated development time... which in his professional life probably bills out at close to $500/hr.
This is his effort, I'm merely an assistant and moderator.
There are certainly competing sites, all seem to have slightly different communities and interests. I suspect that all combined don't have the registered membership of BWCA.com

Beemer01,
You seem to be delivering a mixed message. You say links to CCBB are OK.............Adams says No Links are OK...Which rule applies????
Some , none , only designated links??? As for the 9 other sites, I'd post the links to them, but I don't think that is allowed.

Ho Ho - my usual accolades.
I've always been lucky on that stretch of Basswood heading into the Bay and the 'yellow brick road', for that matter always lucky on Agnes as well with light and favorable winds.
That probably, on reflection, means I don't travel these areas enough!
Thanks for sharing!
