Would you bring a base layer for the kids this time of year? I'm expecting a low of mid-50's with possible rain.

I just got back yesterday and brought a base layer for kiddo "just in case". If they get wet and then it get's that cool they could definitely need it.

Same here...just got back and brought it with just in case. The daughter stayed nice and warm in here sleeping bag...thanks again paddlefamily!

Temps were low 60's to high 50's at night. I thought it was perfect....my wife thought it was a big chilly

Good to know. Their base layer usually doubles as pj's. We've only taken the kids on the shoulder seasons, so 50's should feel pretty great. :) Their bags are rated to 30, so I think we'll be fine.

Just like Ducks and MagicStik, I always bring a base layer... even in summer.

It acts as pj's or a dry set of clothes if needed and doesn't take up as much room as a second set of clothing. It seems like someone always needs to wear at least one piece of the set by the end of the trip because they are filthy, wet, or sometimes cold if it is early or late in the season.

Yes, any time of year.

It doubles as my pajamas. I didn't need to wear it as a base layer on my June trip this year, but I have worn it on August trips. You just never know.

Yes - there doesn't need to be a 2nd layer.

Fleece is always good (what THEY said!)... Never leave home without it.

Enjoy!
