Thanks for sharing your story - I enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed Amok's original report. He was a special guy!

Katie,
What an awesome report. I loved reading about it from your viewpoint. Wonderful. Thanks for posting this!

I am happy you were able to do this Katie. I'm sure that your dad was watching and was proud to see his girl enjoying this area as much as he did. Phil was, and is in our memories a wonderful man.

Katie,
Wow, what a special trip, and Jerry, thanks for being "the guide".
I met your dad, right after this trip, around a campfire, and it was shall we say "early morning" :) I was drinking a beer with butthead (ken) and your dad came up to the fire, and was telling us about his solo on Seagull, and his health issues, and life in general. It was the only time I met your Dad, but he touched me in such a way. I was very moved, and enjoyed that talk, at Wingnight.
He and I shared emails once in a while, and I tried to visit with him to lift his spirit's, and I know He was watching over you all on your trip.
I am glad you got to "re-trace" his steps, it would have meant so much to him, and to use some of his gear, was awesome also.
Blessings to your family and thanks for sharing!

Katie - We are so thankful you and Ken and Stephen were able to retrace Phil's steps; God bless Jerry for taking you there.

I actually have more pictures then this. I decided that it might get a little too long if I tried to put them all on the report. I basically used my Dad's method... take a lot and you'll eventually get a good one! The only problem is that I now have lots of pictures to go through and post/comment on in different places. (But its definitely better than having none.)

I love pictures, Katie. If you upload any more of them to a photo-sharing website (like Photobucket, etc.) and would like to share them, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like a link. Be sure to back up all those pictures and keep them somewhere safe, too.

Thanks Katie for sharing your report with us. Now you know some of what your Dad loved so much. It was so cool of Jerry to go along and be your guide.
