quote Warty: "We made the same mistake on the Fishdance portage, it is a bummer when you realize how much easier the real portage is."
Yep, I didn't even tell the others how nice the other one was. Glad we're not the only ones!

quote SevenofNine: "Awesome, great reading your trip report. Thank you for sharing.
May I ask, what tent or tents did you use?"
I brought my REI Mountain 3 tent (and loved it!). The other tent was a Kelty but I don't know what series.

quote eagle93: "Great report, have done that route myself and loved it. Have been to Ima 4 times and have had an "weather adventure" each time. I think she doesn't like me."
I've been on Ima twice with the same experience (although this one was much worse). I think the name should be "Ima Ocean" :)

By judging the south landing I can imagine what the portage looks like. Not to mention the look on your face when you walked back to our canoe! But I have an awesome video of the "non-portage" trail!

quote Hueyav8r: "Thanks for the report I am heading on a similar trip this summer. It is a mixed group ages will range from mid 40s to 70
"
Have a great trip! If you have any questions about the route, I have all my trip notes and tons of pictures from along the way.
