Not everywhere. I have seen more grouse on our land over the last few months than I did last year. On my 30 acre piece I was lucky enough to find a hen and 4 or 5 chicks earlier this summer in addition to at least three others. Hopefully they all have survived. Looking forward to the hunt (on my dads land!).
I think it might be a good trip to try hunting in the BDub for grouse or deer. Been trying for a moose license in the BDub for a while, hope to get one before it goes away. I sure can't afford a moose hunt in Alaska!
I'll hit a lot of state forest land for grouse.
For those that do grouse hunt up there, are you going in for a day trip or several days?

Your acreage in the Perham area? I do know north of Motley there has been a few more grouse around.

No, my parents lake place is in the Perham area. The land is a few miles north of Wadena.
My dad has more land in the same area so when I am grouse hunting there I usually hunt his land. There are more birds on his. I am hoping to let my little flock grow.

quote CrookedPaddler1: "Took my daughter out on her first grouse hunt Saturday. We saw one grouse which she was able to harvest. She wants to have it mounted so she will always remember the day she shot her first bird!"
Good for her.She got more than I got the first weekend.
