most of the portage is close like this, it's a really nice portage despite being 320rds.

From what I recall, the only spot that was any cause for concern was where it dropped down & climbed back up by the beaver pond at about the 2/3 point of the trail. (as you are heading for the lake.) Still nothing too serious.

That was going to be my entry in Sept 2011 until they closed it for the Pagami Creek wildfire.

That looks like it. There was a small little rivulet running out of there that crossed the portage trail at it's lowest point. (easily stepped right over when we passed through) That is where the up/down I referred to is.

I agree. But 3 trips with minnow bucket/ oxy bag and folding chair etc..-- I was ready for some water!!! There is also one narrow rocky section just after the board planks after the parking area,,, I lost my balance here and fell coming out with the canoe,,, likely because I was going to fast for my physical condition.
