1) Are these allowed since they are not not really alive?
2) Are they worth their weight?
3) If they are worth their weight should I combine two packs and carry the "juice" of only one pack?
4) Anybody carry these in a package other than the original?
5) 3" or 5"
Thanks

I think they would be, but I've never had to use any live bait at all in Quetico--even for walleyes.

So are these plastic or dead ones? I can't tell from a quick search. Plastic yes; dead live bait no - the ranger can't tell if it died before or after entry to the Q.

This should be in fishing forum where I never look and then I'd never offer my stupid answer.

I tried them last summer in quetico for about 1/2 hour without any success.I switched to plastic twister tails and hammered the fish. I will not be taking them again. Others swear by them, I just have not had success with them. As far as being legal I thought they were.

Yes. They work great. We've been using them for years. I'd recommend using a leak-proof container. Don't use the container they come in...it WILL leak. There are options available for purchase...from Plano for example.

I've also used the GULP! minnows and twister tails very successfully.

I like twister tails better on a jig, but yes the GULP alive are legal. I also like the GULP alive 4" minnows. ANother product to check out are the Northland impulse minnow or twister tails.

I have had mixed luck with them. The first time I used them live leeches were not working. Put on a Gulp Alive leech and caught walleye after walleye! I have not replicated that sucess to that level, but certainly would take them on a trip if I were targeting walleyes.

We fish walleyes nearly all day everyday when we're in Q and our group has agreed that Gulp is not worth the cost and weight when jigs and twister tails work just as well, if not better.

Brought Gulp last year. Didn't generate desired results. Won't bring Gulp this upcoming trip - will try Slimers this year

Tried Gulp leeches on a couple trips. Results weren't much different than standard jigs with power grubs which are easier to carry/use and cheaper...

OK SURVEY SAYS.....maybe. 4 yes, 4 no, 2 no opinion.

I think I will take Bill's advice and move this question to the fishing forum.

I think they are a real pain. Caught plenty of walleyes on Senko's.

Really? Walleyes on Senkos? Hadn't thought of it. How did you rig them?

Never even thought of using Gulp Alive. I've had plenty of good luck using twister tails.
