The other thread was getting pretty long. I really enjoy stopping in to look at what everyone has to post up for the day.

This one was taken about a mile south of my cabin in NW MN. The Nature Conservancy owns a lot of land there and burns often in the fall but this one was a wild fire roaring across the prairie late in the day.

Went for a walk in the Minnesota River Valley. All kinds of waterfowl migrating but everything was off in the distance. Some swans landed off in the distance and started to spar as the sun was going down.

The bird guy at work says the pink legs vs dark red legs make and bigger darker bill make it a Bonapartes gull. I looked online and they sure look a lot alike.

They are close...after looking into it more the thing that stands out to me also..is the dark beak...this is a Bonapartes Gull
