I bought the Audobon app for my iPhone and iPad. It is really nice. It is searchable by shape, color, name, etc. It has good photos of all the birds as well as bird calls. It costs $20 but is well worth it. Also has mammals, butterflies, trees, etc. FYI.

I also bought this for my android phone a great app I use it all the time when I'm out and about.
I paid $4.99 from the t mobile playstore.

I also bought this and I am very happy with it. If you choose to download the data it will work even with no cell service or internet connection.
