Just talked to a buddy who was caught in camp by a straight-line wind storm on Glacier Friday, May 31--he said trees were snapping all around. They were out for 10 days--a leisurely trip up through Louisa to Glacier and back the same way. Lots of lake trout, smallmouth not nesting but found them on the reefs, some good largemouth fishing also. No walleyes (not a prime walleye route).

I put off a short solo trip in the BW (Ensign Lake, where I'm doing bird surveys) for a day to avoid that predicted storm May 31, but here in the Ely area it didn't amount to much. Instead, when I actually started on June 1, I was treated to an afternoon of windy drizzle with the temperature hanging in the low 40s. Did you get that cold wet weather the next day in Quetico too?
