I would like to find out more about this fishery. Do you have any info you would be willing to share with me. I am strictly catch and release and mainly chase walleyes. All info would be kept hush hush. I am very curious about the spot Stu from the BWJ always gets those huge walleyes.

Just a suggestion: I subscribe to BWJ and he marks my maps per his TRIPS program which I find very helpful. Not a bad perk for a 5 year subscription.

I believe Stu made someone who gave him info about Conmee fishing mad when he revealed the info in BWJ.

I would NEVER share any info with a guy that makes his living by exposing the secrets of the canoe country--especially when it come to unique or fragile fisheries.

I would just take my depth finder and basecamp on that lake. Paddle around and find some reefs. Then, go again the next year and do the same. It's all part of the adventure.

We have base camped on Conmee and fished that lake hard. Our best luck for larger walleyes came in a narrow area in the bay that leads to the portage to Suzanette. There are two such bays and I am talking about the one that is somewhat south and west of the second one. I do not have my maps in front of me. If that does not make sense as you look at your maps, let me know. While we caught walleyes in other areas also, this was our best "go to" area for larger fish. Good luck.

Stu revealed so much about Conmee over the past 10 years or so that it's now completely fished out, and even he doesn't go there anymore. Ha-ha. --Goose
