I was going to do that exact trip last year. It was to be my brother in law, on his first Quetico trip and my 13 year old son. My brother in law bailed 3 days before so my son and I scaled down the trip a bit and went from Agnes, through the S-Chain and back to PP.
Someday, I will do that trip. I would have done it this year, but I wanted a change of scenery.
Who knows, maybe we will run into you somewhere on Kawnipi.

I've never been there, but the plan is to stay on the SE part. Probably the Kawa, McVic, or McKenzie bay area. My wife is pretty hell-bent on seeing waterfalls, so we'll be closer to that end. Let's hook up, have some whiskey and tell fish stories!

Fishguts,
We expect to be leaving Prarie Portage first thing in the morning. Where do you expect we would cross paths? I'll watch for you.
So far it looks like - Sarah, Brent, William, Conmee, and Burt lakes are on the hit list. Fair warning, I know this is your stomping ground, I'll tap your brain for fishing hotspots.

For LLC I use Randy Stern at Gateway Resort. He has a jet boat and takes you up the loon river. He operates out of Gateway Resort. He has the most entertaining ride and the cheapest prices, plus he gives you free beer or soda when he picks you back up. His website is down right now.

I tell ya, that complimentary beer or soda goes a LONG way after 10 days in the bush. We've been with 4 different outfitters in 5 years and none of them have ever brought a beer to out pick-up point. The guy at Gateway obviously has been out on a trip a few times and knows what it takes to keep a cu$tomer.
