Primarily a trout and panfish flyfisher but I am planning a trip for the opener targeting pike. If you guys have any comments on the equipment I am planning to bring let me know.
My equipment is:
Rod: Sage 9' 8 wt
Reel: Ross Rhythm 3.5
Line: Rio 8 wt WF Floating Clouser
Leader: sorry, I don't tie my own-picked up some Rio Pike leaders with short wire tippet, fast loc snap
Tippet: picked up some knotable wire leader material 20#
Flies: Dahlberg megadivers (chart and white), Rabbit Strip Diver, Swimming frog diver, Barry's Pike Fly, Clouser Minnows
anything I'm missing or color recs?

Pike to me are the ultimate challenge in the BWCA. I have a Fenwick Techna 8 wt rod, and a Ross CLA spooled with Rio 8wt clouser line. I am looking forward to the challenge in the BW this Sept.

Along the line of toothy critters, are there any other muskie flyfisherman out there? I've been trying to make fly patterns big enough to trigger the interest of these beasts, but so far, I've had only one hookup out of about 50 heartracing follows. My go to pattern this fall was a slightly altered Mako shark pattern.
